Under normal circumstances, as long as the method is used properly, home fitness will not only not reduce your immunity, but will help you strengthen your immune defense line. If your immunity does decrease, nine times out of ten, there is something wrong with the way you practice, and it has nothing to do with the "home" scenario itself.
Speaking of the period when the epidemic was under lockdown, there was indeed a wave of claims on the Internet that "exercise at home can drag down immunity." There is a real example around me. A girl in the same department rarely exercised. During the lockdown, she followed the live broadcast and danced for 3 hours of high-intensity fat-burning exercises.
I specifically asked a friend who does exercise rehabilitation at the time, and he said that it is not just excessive exercise. If you always practice in a small, airtight and unventilated space, such as a small bedroom of about 10 square meters with the windows closed and the heater turned on, and every time you practice until you are panting and not breathing, all the exhaust gas will be sucked back by yourself. Over time, it will put a burden on the respiratory tract and indirectly affect the immune status. This situation has indeed been a pitfall for many fitness enthusiasts, and it is also one of the reasons why many people think that home fitness is not good.
But if you want to say that home fitness will definitely affect immunity, it is definitely an injustice. I have been practicing at home for almost two years. I usually open the window half way in the afternoon when the sun is bright, and I practice for 40 minutes each time. I occasionally practice dumbbells and aerobics. I never practice hard until I lose strength. In the past two years, the number of colds during the seasons has been reduced by at least half compared to when I commuted to the office every day and went to the gym once a week. Popular science on sports medicine also said that moderate-intensity regular exercise, whether at home or in the gym, can increase the activity of immune cells. Only when the intensity of exercise exceeds your tolerance and lasts for more than an hour without replenishing energy in time, there will be an immune window period of several hours. At this time, if you are facing the air conditioner and do not change dry clothes in time, it is indeed easy to get sick, but this is a problem of exercise planning, and it is the same wherever you practice.
To put it bluntly, home fitness is just a sports scene, and you cannot bear the blame of "lowering immunity". If you practice hard, work out in a dull mood, and work around while sweating, you will still get sick easily even if you go to a top gym. If you follow your own rhythm, practicing at home saves time and is easier to persist than going to the gym. The benefits to your immunity can be truly felt.
